Abstract

The software development landscape has undergone dramatic transformation in recent years, driven by innovations in serverless computing, low-code/no-code platforms, and the widespread shift to remote work environments. This research investigates how these modern development practices impact developer productivity, application quality, and organizational efficiency. Through a comprehensive analysis combining survey data from 250 developers, performance metrics from serverless deployments, and productivity assessments across remote and traditional work settings, we examine the adoption patterns, benefits, and challenges of contemporary development approaches. Our findings reveal that serverless architectures reduce infrastructure management overhead by approximately 60% while enabling faster deployment cycles. Low-code platforms accelerate application development by 40-50% for certain use cases, though they introduce constraints on customization and scalability. Remote work environments, when properly supported with collaboration tools and clear communication protocols, maintain or exceed productivity levels compared to traditional office settings. The research provides empirical evidence supporting the strategic adoption of modern development practices while identifying critical success factors and potential pitfalls that organizations must navigate during implementation.
