A THOROUGH ANALYSIS OF THE ADSORPTION REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

Abstract

Because adsorption refrigeration systems use low-grade energy, they are essential in refrigeration applications. An overview of the adsorption refrigeration system is given in this article. The current review focuses on adsorption refrigeration systems that use zeolite/water, silica gel/water, and activated carbon/methanol as adsorbent/adsorbate pairs. Multiple beds are presented in the literature due to the high COP and particular cooling power values. For continuous cold production in an adsorption refrigeration system, a minimum of two beds is preferred. The adsorption refrigeration system's COP can be raised by increasing the adsorbent's thermal conductivity.
