ENHANCING CONSTRUCTION PROJECT PLANNING BY VARIOUS TOOLS: A COMPARATIVE APPROACH

Abstract

The construction industry is facing several challenges in the planning of construction projects. This research aims to identify the most suitable tool for effective and efficient construction project planning. There are many tools used in the construction industry, but there is not any specific study that represents the best planning tool for the Gujarat region. The objectives of this research are to identify and compare the various tools used in the construction industry for the planning and management of construction project by literature review and comparison of tools by survey on the basis of various parameters. The results revealed that Microsoft Project MSP consistently outperformed Wrike and Powerplay Site Management across most of the parameters. This study highlights the significance of selecting the right construction project management tool on the basis of parameters like planning, scheduling, cost-effectiveness, etc.
